Andrea Long Chuís Fake Vagina

https://www.theameri...onservative.com

November 24, 2018,

Article:

Sit down and read this essay in The New York Times by Andrea Long Chu. It is, inadvertently, an icon of our radically disordered culture. Hereís how it starts:

Next Thursday, I will get a vagina. The procedure will last around six hours, and I will be in recovery for at least three months. Until the day I die, my body will regard the vagina as a wound; as a result, it will require regular, painful attention to maintain. This is what I want, but there is no guarantee it will make me happier. In fact, I donít expect it to. That shouldnít disqualify me from getting it.

Could there possibly be a more succinct statement of our very particular cultural madness? What I want is against nature, and I believe it will make me miserable, but I want it, and you had all better give it to me.

Chu goes on to say that being on estrogen has made him even unhappier than he was to begin with:

Like many of my trans friends, Iíve watched my dysphoria balloon since I began transition. I now feel very strongly about the length of my index fingers ?enough that I will sometimes shyly unthread my hand from my girlfriendís as we walk down the street. When she tells me Iím beautiful, I resent it. Iíve been outside. I know what beautiful looks like. Donít patronize me.

I was not suicidal before hormones. Now I often am.

I wonít go through with it, probably. Killing is icky. I tell you this not because Iím cruising for sympathy but to prepare you for what Iím telling you now: I still want this, all of it. I want the tears; I want the pain. Transition doesnít have to make me happy for me to want it. Left to their own devices, people will rarely pursue what makes them feel good in the long term. Desire and happiness are independent agents.

More:

But I also believe that surgeryís only prerequisite should be a simple demonstration of want. Beyond this, no amount of pain, anticipated or continuing, justifies its withholding.

Nothing, not even surgery, will grant me the mute simplicity of having always been a woman. I will live with this, or I wonít. Thatís fine. The negative passions ?grief, self-loathing, shame, regret ?are as much a human right as universal health care, or food. There are no good outcomes in transition. There are only people, begging to be taken seriously.

Read the whole thing.

Do you see whatís happening here? Chu says that the treatments doctors have given him are making him sicker, even making him desire suicide. But if he wants to suffer and to die, then he should have that right. Satisfying desire is the only thing that matters.

This poor man with asparagus-colored hair is going to submit to mutilation next week, and will have to spend the rest of his life inserting an object into the wound surgeons will have made in his pubic area, to prevent his body from healing itself. This man ?ďlike many of my trans friends??expects this medical procedure to make him no happier, and in fact may make him feel more miserable, even suicidal.

But he wants it. People like him want all of society to upend its laws, its customs, and its norms to facilitate that desire, and to act like thereís nothing wrong with it. And society is giving them what they want, and punishing those who deny that this is paradise.

Freeing the autonomous will from sex and gender norms is the summum bonum of contemporary American progressivism. The insatiably miserable Andrea Long Chu is its incarnation.

This person has a serious mental illness and/or genetically defective brain and should be treated as such.

Horror movie level crazy, just shy of murder porn, that the left would have us celebrate. Or is it comedic tragedy?

and yet pointing this out makes you a homophobe or LBGXYZphobe or, heaven forbid, you will be labeled as an IST!

this out of control, rampant idiocy is astonishing in how long it has been going on and how much stronger it has become without anyone standing up to it.

ETA: And why do we even need to know about Andrea Long Chute and his vagina journey? Who seriously gives a shidt other than him and his girlfriend and his doctor who is enjoying the insurance money flowing in to cover this surgery and those to follow.

I've discussed issues like this with progressives and they ultimately ALWAYS pull out the _______phobe or _______ist accusation like it's an ace up their sleeve. In their world that's the biggest insult one can throw at someone and they expect me to vehemently deny it. When I casually brush it off with "facts aren't ______ist" they are usually at a loss for words. They don't know where to take it from there because their biggest weapon fizzled out.

So this man believes he is a lesbian female trapped in a man's body? What kind of a mental person does his "girlfriend" have to be?

This is one sick world and it angers me how we pander to this minute and mentally ill subset of our population and act as if they are normal.

If he wanted to mutilate any other part of his body he would be getting help for his issues. Itís infuriating and sad.

Itís his business if he wants to cut off his dick and put on a dress. He doesnít have any right to expect me to nod my approval and call him Nancy.

I think this girlfriend is trapped. She obviously lives in a liberal world where if she decides she prefers to be straight and with a man she will be ostracized and kicked out of the village for being transphobic. She lives in a world where her needs and wants are trumped for sensitivity and acceptance of mental illness. Anything else, and she will be perceived as a monster against the cause of social justice.

Can you imagine the thoughts running through her head when he/she/it told her that he/she/it wanted a vagina? ........OH CRAP! What do I do now?

Yes, after reading the article, I am convinced this man/woman has many mental issues that a mutilating surgery cannot begin to address. What a sad, sad being.

Same thought I had.

Sadder still is the physician who would participate in this.

What happened to "do no harm"?

If you don't know what self-loathing taken to the extreme would look like, here's Exhibit A.

NO, this person won't get a Vagina. What they'll get is some cleverly folded skin that looks, feels, and possibly even tastes like vagina, in the same sense that cleverly processed hydrolyzed vegetable oil can be made to taste like "cheese" but isn't.

The word, borrowed from the Germans who know a thing or two about mental illness, is "Ersatz". It's a word that isn't used ANYWHERE NEAR often enough in describing American Kulture these days. Jefferson Airplane covered the concept way back in the '60s (see below).

Okay, I WON'T patronize him/it. I know what UGLY looks like too, and not just on the outside but on the inside as well. ("Beauty is skin deep, but Ugly goes clear to the bone" I forget who originally said that.)

It's bad of me to say: Sorely tempted to write, "so what's stopping you"? As a counselor in my church organization, I CANNOT Say that. I WILL NOT. I suspect this person is beyond the pale of anything I could help with, but that's no reason not to try. They have "hesitated", I can work with that.

An old joke but oh-so-relevant:

"Doctor, It hurts when I do THIS."

"Well, don't DO THAT".

I suspect that this person didn't listen to NEAR ENOUGH Jefferson Airplane in the Day. Or Pink Floyd, Too, for that matter.

And... just because I can post TWO videos in a single post. Wouldn't want to waste it, this one's a "bonus":

According to Marty Balin, who wrote "Plastic Fantastic Lover" (and who of course could've been lying), the song was an ode to his new home stereo, something of a novelty back in those days.

Aw, man, you're ruinin' it. I had much more, uh, "interesting" thoughts in mind.

"New Home stereo" In the day it would have been "Marantz" or at least JBL (James B. Lansing) or even Altec-lansing of the same.

I can write an "ode" to both Saul Marantz and James B Lansing. And Henry L Kloss (Backronym "KLH") for that matter.

My current "Home Theatre"? Vintage '70s KLH speakers beside a panasonic widescreen TV, seems to work. Had to give up my Altec-Lansing "series ones" when I left Oregon, and I'm still grieving over it. Would love a pair of JBL "Century 100"s. from the '70s but probably WAY too rich for my blood.

Someone should send that Op Ed to the surgeons who are tasked with performing this procedure.
